The Selfish crocodile: Book review and activities

I truly believe you learn a lot while playing. Now that Mahira is a preschooler I believe it's even more important to make everything fun, as the schools have a certain way of teaching them and I try to improvise it in my own way. We have started reading books with a twist now, mix and match some activities always, for e.g today we read the The Selfish Crocodile by Faustin Charles. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Book review: A beautiful story about a crocodile who doens't want anybody to come to the river, and how one day a small tiny mouse helped him get out of trouble and a friendship began. So much to learn from the book, to be kind, help others in need, don't be selfish, share and community living. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We have been reading this from the age of 2, but now Mahira truly understands the meaning of being kind and hence loves it so much more. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Activities: 🐊 We cut a crocodile from another picture book and cut it in the middle, pasted that on a clothes pin and our selfish crocodile is ready to scare the other animals, so much fun to open the mouth and close it snap snap snap. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🐊 We had so much fun with the learning resources alphabet alligators. Identify and match the alphabets and fix them together, upper case and lower case. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🐊 Since mouse is the hero of the book, we just did a small puzzle around what does the mouse eat and also with some other animals present in the book. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Hope you guys have lots of fun while reading the book 🐊🐊. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #booksforkids #toddlerbooks #montessori #montessoritoddlers #instamoms #booklove #raisingareader #kidsactivities #momblogger #learnwhileplaying #theselfishcrocodile #1000booksbeforekindergarten #500booksbeforekindergarten #montessorilearning #gurgaonmoms #indianmomblogger #preschoolers #kidswhoread #toddleractivities #summeractivities #engagethekids #playtogether #classicbooks #learntoshare #teachthemkindness #communityliving#momtoamunchkin
